

Silver Good Citizen Award

Only once you have completed the Bronze Award are you and your dog able to progress to the Silver Award where after a further 9 weeks you and your dog will be tested on activities such as road walking; a 2 minute stay; friendly play; a controlled vehicle entrance/exit; as well as being examined by the examiner. However again its not all on your dog, you the handler will also have to answer some additional straight forward questions to show you are a responsible dog owner - don't worry we provide you with all the information at the start of the course.

At the end of the 9 weeks you will undertake the following exercises as part of a final examination and each must be completed successfully in order to progress to the next level of training.

Exercise 1 - Play with the dog
Exercise 2 - Road walk
Exercise 3 - Rejoin handler
Exercise 4 - Stay (on the lead) for 2 minutes
Exercise 5 - Vehicle control
Exercise 6 - Come away from distractions
Exercise 7 - Controlled greeting
Exercise 8 - Food manners
Exercise 9 - Examination of the dog (by the examiner)
Exercise 10 - Responsibility & Care (handler only)

On successful completion of the Silver Award, each dog and handler is awarded a rosette and certificate and their details are added to the KC register. There is then an opportunity to progress to the next level of training.
