Gold Good Citizen Award

​

Only once you have completed the Silver Award are you and your dog able to progress to the final level of Gold Award, where after a further 9 weeks you and your dog will be tested on activities such as walking free' a 2 minute stay off the lead, emergency stops; as well as being examined by the examiner. However as expected its not all on your dog, you the handler will also have to answer some additional straight forward questions to show you are a responsible dog owner - don't worry we provide you with all the information at the start of the course.

Please note that due to KC rules your dog must be over 12 months when taking the final test. 

​

At the end of the 9 weeks you will undertake the following exercises as part of a final examination and each must be completed successfully in order to complete the Good Citizen training.

Exercise 1 - Road Walk

Exercise 2 - Return to handler

Exercise 3 - Walk free beside handler

Exercise 4 - Stay (off the lead) for 2 minutes 

Exercise 5 - Send the dog to bed

Exercise 6 - Stop the dog

Exercise 7 - Relaxed isolation

Exercise 8 - Food manners

Exercise 9 - Examination of the dog (by the examiner)

Exercise 10 - Responsibility & Care (handler only)

After successful completion your and your dog will be presented with a rosette and certificate and your details will be submitted to the KC for their records.
