Bronze Good Citizen Award

Once your dog has mastered the basics it's time to start building on those simple commands. After 9 weeks, you and your dog will be tested on activities such as recall; a 1 minute stay; passing through gates; and being examined by the handler. However its not all on your dog, you the handler will also have to answer some straight forward questions to show you are a responsible dog owner - don't worry we provide you with all the information at the start of the course.

At the end of the 9 weeks you will undertake the following exercises as part of a final examination and each must be completed successfully in order to progress to the next level of training.

Exercise 1 - Cleanliness & Identifcation

Exercise 2 - Collar & Lead

Exercise 3 - Walk on lead

Exercise 4 - Control at door/gate

Exercise 5 - Controlled walk amongst people and dogs (on the lead)

Exercise 6 - Stay/Wait (on lead) for 1 minute

Exercise 7 - Groom

Exercise 8 - Present for examination

Exercise 9 - Return to handler (recall - can be held in wait position)

Exercise 10 - Responsibility & Care (handler only)

On successful completion of the Bronze level course, each dog and handler is awarded a rosette and certificate and their details are added to the KC register. There is then an opportunity to progress to the next level of training.
